Mario Varriale was born in Naples (Italy) in 1973. In 1997 he obtained a degree in Corporate Communication and presented an experimental thesis on the communication of consumer brands on the Internet, sponsored by Unilever Italy. He then further specialised in corporate communication with a postgraduate degree (1998) from the University of Venice, Italy. He worked for international advertising agency Young&Rubicam in Milan (1998/99) on brands such as Kraft J.S. (Milka, Simmenthal, Hag), Colgate (Showergel, Total), Ford (website).
Then he worked for Wind Telecomunicazioni in Rome until 2016, where after covering several roles in the Marketing and Communication Departments, he has become Digital Media Manager for the Wind brand (3rd mobile TLC operator in Italy) and Infostrada (2nd fixed-dsl operator in Italy). For Infostrada he managed the whole media mix (TV, Radio, OOH, Web).
He has been working for Havas Media Group since Feb 2017 as Client Service Director and, starting from June 2018, Head of Product.
He won the Grand Prix della Pubblicità several time (2001, 2007, 2017). Alongside his work at Wind, he was lecturer Corporate Communication at Salerno University from 2006 to 2010 (“professore a contratto”) and he founded an e-commerce start up (Nov 2011) that has reached one million euro billing in four years (www.MamasMusicStore.it).
