Marco Argenti is the Vice President, Mobile and IoT for Amazon Web Services. He joined the company in September 2013. He is globally responsible for AWS’s services to Enterprises and Developers wanting to build Mobile Applications and apply Cloud and Internet technology to transform their businesses. Such services range from mobile development to the new generation of ‘serverless’ cloud compute services, to services designed to connect the physical world to the internet. Such services for the Internet of Things connect, analyze and act on data coming from devices such as home gateways, smart appliances, medical devices, automobiles, agricultural equipment, power plants for companies such as Philips, John Deere, BMW, Enel, iRobot and several Smart Cities and Transportation hubs around the world.
For the previous five years, he served as Senior Vice President, Developer Experience for Nokia Corporation. In this role, he had global responsibility for Nokia’s third party ecosystem development including Developer Relations, Developer Tools, Appstore and ISV Partnering. Before that, he was Managing Director of Dada.net, a company offering Mobile content and services to consumers and mobile carriers, operating in 14 countries, and Chief Executive Officer of Internet Frontier Inc, Toronto, Canada, a company offering E-commerce solutions for online and traditional retailers.
Marco has an Informatics Engineering Degree from the university of Pisa. He has been a guest professor at the University of Waterloo and a guest lecturer at the Politecnico di Milano and Sapienza Universities in Italy. He enjoys playing guitar and running marathons.
